Grooves in Brake Rotor

Hey guys,

I had my brakes done less than 2,000 miles ago. The rotors were professionally resurfaced and looked like new when I drove out. Some time later, the right front took on this appearance. The left still looks even. I can't tell any difference in the brake action, I don't think. What would cause this? There's like grooves around it - it looks really weird how the outer edge is very clean.... or shiny (glazed). Was it from debris getting on the wheel? Or a bad cutting job?

I've only done local driving since the brake job, much of it on the highway about 20 miles or less at a time. No extreme heat - its been kind of cold. These are factory rotors with 92,000 on them, and they did not look like this before I had the brake job! I don't know if I should do anything about it.

Both rotors should look nice and smooth. I wonder if that caliper is hanging up a bit?

How would I know? I assume it would pull to the right while braking?

You can go back to the repair shop you had this done at to see what they say. I have a feeling they may tell you that un-even wear can happen at times, and that after several hundred miles more driving the pad will even itself out with the rotor, and establish a smoother surface. I'm not saying that is the best answer, but probably what they will tell you.
