Post Fuel Problems

I have a 2006 GT that recently started having fuel issues. The fuel gauge goes to one extreme to the other when I get to 1/2 a tank. Within a few second it will jump between empty and 1/2 a tank. I thought it might have been the stepper motors, so I hooked up a Aeroforce Gauge to monitor how much fuel was left. Well today I supposedly ran out even though I know there was at least five gallons left in the tank. The Aeroforce Gauge said I had 30% fuel remaining while the Fuel Gauge said I was empty. My question is does the Fuel Gauge control the computer and tell the engine to shut off even though there is fuel still left in the tank? I have since filled up the tank and it only let me put around 10 gallons in it and now the Fuel Gauge and the Aeroforce Gauge say the tank is completely full.

If you know how to remove fuel pump on drivers side under rear seat & a sending unit on passenger side to clean up & inspect it may help ?

https://themustangsource.com/galaxie...sb06_10_13.pdf Try doing some research on the tsb. I believe some were using Techron, a fuel additive that would clean sulfur from the sender.
