Front end clunking /{ Front Suspension Shop Manual Pdf's!}
I have a 2006 mustang GT, it started clunking in the right front when going over a bump, I changed the struts (both sides) and then change lower control arm and sway bar end link on right side(due to time constraints didnt get to the left side.) clunking went away , I drove it twice then started clunking on the left side, I then did the same on the left side, now it is not as load a noise but still there when going over bumps, would the front sway bar bushings make this kind of noise as this is the only thing I have not changed, everything seems tight, drives pretty solid when not going over bumps, no stearing issues, any suggestions or thoughts would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks

Went through this on mine last item was the stabilizer bushings. Changed them still had clunk. What I did notice the bushings are poly and seemed to go on to easy. So I cut a piece of 1/8 hdpe the size of the flat spot of the bushing. I put it in between the bushing and the frame and tightened it down. Clunk gone. I believe that being the bushing is poly, harder than rubber it is hitting the stop on the stabilizer bar. If it were rubber it may not have made the clunk.
I recently purchased a 2008 Mustang 4.0 Coupe Deluxe for my daughter's first car. It had 115k miles on it. From the Carfax and my personal inspection, it has turned out to be exactly what I was hoping it to be, an all original car that had no history of major mechanical issues. It was just driven by previous owners who had to do nothing to it. I wanted to be the one who performed the first maintenance on it. It had the original serpentine belt, spark plugs, fuel filter filled with very dark brown mirk, totally flat shocks, springs and struts, cloth seats, complete with drivers side hole in the lower outside back rest and totally glazed over headlights. In other words, a perfect car that had never been messed with by a wannabe teen age mechanic.
This forum helped me find the "clunk" in the front end. I read where someone suggested that the fastest, easiest and cheapest first step in the process of elimination is to remove the front stabilizer bar. I removed it and wa-la...no more clunk. Someone had placed a plastic shim behind the passenger side mounting clamp in an attempt to stop the "clunk." That was the first and only shade tree fix that the car had. New bushings are on the way.

Welcome!
I Would Say Some More Info is Needed For A Better Response.
Some Good Pics of The Suspension Would Be Helpful as is Current Mileage on Car and Pics Showing Wear Pattern on Front Tires. Did You Just get The Car or Have You Had it a Long Time? Basically a Bit of Backstory To Advise Best! Is Car Stock Or Has it Been Modified With Lowered Suspension Etc?
Does Car Drive Fine Except For Noise Going Over Bumps??
Some of The Original Posts Point Out Two Weak Spots These Cars Have Had Over The Years Such as Upper Strut Mounts and Swaybar Mounting. Maybe All it Needs Unless High Miles and Or Abused. So Hard To Reply Without a Bit More Info. Also Are You Going To Attempt Repairs Yourself or Take To a Shop??
Added Suspension Diag PDF's. From Shop Manual To Check Out!
Again Welcome
