now now, lets not start to assume things :nono:

You'll make an, well you know the saying
Technically, when you mod a car like that, it abuses itself beyond the design parameters.

No you need to understand the type. They will tie you up on busy days too. And they are not exactly pleasant about thier 'knowledge', its borderline obnoxious. If they usually do buy something, after talking about it with you 20 times or so they take whatever final price you give them and buy it down the street for 100 bucks less. Then come up regularly and ask you questions about it.
Sounds like a good way to kick your salesman in the Ding Ding!
FYI...I bought my Honda Pilot from a dealership that does "one price", could have paid $300 less down the road, but they offer to extend for "free" the basic 3/36 factory warranty to 5/50 on any new Honda. Probably wont ever need it. That and the salespeople are paid a salary and are not on commission made the experience enjoyable versus the high pressure "only if you buy right now!" price.

You're not catching my drift. I think everyone needs to sell cars for a month or two in thier life, doesn't matter what the format is, one price, internet giveaway store, your-job-is-your-credit used car hole in the walls, multi-make mega dealers, you name it. It is a VERY interesting experience. And not the customers that are like you guys here, or people you know, or CRAZY people you know.........its the other people you never knew existed. Its like bizzaro customer. You spend a lot of time like this:

Wow that was a while back. I went to an SVT Focus then an 06 V6 with a 2 year lease, should be just in time for a Mach or something cool. I'm just stirring the mud a little on this thread. Yea, you do meet some whackos in sales though

It always amazes me how dealers seem to forget where they make there money. They make it in service and warranty work, Why they care where you bought you vehicle or how much you know about it bogles the mind. If i ran a dealership I would love an owner making me money by telling me what to do to their cars for which ford will pay me..

None of that is any excuse for people making stuff up off the top of their head and then not admitting when they are wrong or when they just plain don't know something and won't admit it.
Those are common salesmen, service writers, and service techs practices.
