drivers window s197

anyone notice that when they hit the down button on the window it sometimes goes all the way down and makes a klunk noise? Then some times when I raise it all the way it acts like a garage door and goes up then instantly down? It's stuff I can live with but was wondering if anyone else had this issue? This happend on my '05 and now to my '07. I cant be the only one.

Well the "clunk" can be corrected by rolling the window down, then after it has stopped roll the window up, but hold the window button in the up position till the window is closed and 3-6 seconds after. This will reset it and alleviate the clunk.

I haven't had the window roll up then immediately roll down unless something was in between the glass and the roof line, and it is supposed to do that in that instance.

+1 had this happen on my 06 but never had it go up then down . I would try the reset OKC mentioned and see if that fixes the other problem.

Mine clunks as well, never had it go down like that though. I'll try to reset it to see if it works, Thanks Daryl.

I have had the passenger window bounce back a few times when there were no obstructions. It is an intermiitent problem and on occasion has taken several tries to get it to close.

Its happened a few times

I have had it happen a few times, I just figured the switch has a close tolerance, and when you pulled the switch up and let it go it just tripped the down mode, I noticed if I pull the switch up and not let it pop back down, I dont have the problem.

Try the window re-calibration procedure as described in the Owner's Manual:

To re-calibrate the window in this case, lower the window until it completes its travel and hold the switch down for 2 seconds. Immediately after releasing the window down switch, pull the switch up to raise the window until it completes its travel and hold the switch up for 2 seconds. Perform Short drop re-calibration with doors closed only. Re-Calibrating with doors open will cause the window to continuously bounce back.

In the 2005 Mustang Owner's Manual it's on page 46. I see you have a 2007MY, so the page might be different, but it's in the "Driver Controls" chapter.

All cars with the slight drop to open get knocked out of calibration like this. Sometimes someone opens the door too fast, or it freezes slightly or someone leans on the glass when open, girlfriend slams the door, etc and knocks it out of an extremely tight calibration.
