Talked to my niece living in Scottsdale, Az. Her mirror developed an annoying squeak for which her Ford service rep recommended replacing the entire unit. Said it could not be corrected otherwise. Anyone here concur with the recommendation or might there be some less expensive remedy?

 

Mine had that problem and if I remember correctly I poped it off and tightened the screws behind it and that fixed it. You could also use some superglue on it if you can find the right spot.
