drive shaft U joints
I've got 143,000 miles on my 06 and getting a change in sound when running down the hiway, I thought it might be U joints ?
any thoughts

U-joints will normally make a metal ping sound if shifting from forward to reverse or vise versa when wearing occurs. The only other way I know to check them is to remove the driveshaft and flex each joint. They should move freely with no notchiness or binding. What you might want to do is note when the noise occurs; ie. increases during acceleration or deceleration, does it change after each shift, remain constant or howl louder the faster you go or decelerate. Post back.

If it's noisy on deceleration only it may be the differential. You probably should have it diagnosed by the dealer or a shop that repairs differentials. Maybe a couple of different shops can test drive to get their opinion before choosing a shop to do repairs.
