Door Handle Paint Peeling

The paint on my door handle is peeling off. Would anyone know if this would be covered under the paint warranty? I no longer have the basic warranty but thought there was a paint warranty that is longer.

Mine is peeling too. Car was built Sept 2004. No paint warranty I can find in the owners literature. I used touch up paint to stop the peeling until I can replace the handles.

The paint on the inside of my driver's handle is wearing off where your fingers go.

I'm wondering if this problem is somehow related to the issue the 05's had with the handles not fully retracting. Some replacements came painted and others didn't.

You are probably right. The dealer worked on my door handle a few years ago - can't remember if they replaced it or fixed it.

Hmm, I remember people having those issues - it even happened to me when I had a Focus rental - but I've not had any issues with the mustang handle.

The back side of my exterior driver door handle is peeling/wearing off. Passenger side, which gets no use, is still fine. I wonder if its related to oils from the skin?

So far you can't see it, only feel it. I might do a paint repair myself since it's such a small part.
