Dash removal

Since it is getting colder outside some of my dash rattles are coming back. I had the dealer fix it by putting some foam under the dash but they are coming back even worse this year. I have rattles on each side of the dash and cricket squeaks when I hit bumps. I've seen the thread about taking the A-pillar off but I want to take the whole dash off. Does anyone know how to do this? I want to see whats going on under there and maybe slap some extra dynamat I have on the bottom of the dash.
Thanks in advance.

It goes to show to avoid dealers at all cost. 9 times out of 10 they'll make it worse. As soon as you start popping door panels and removal the dash you're in a world of aggravation.

Yeah, I had a door rattle that the dealer couldn't fix and as soon as I took the door off myself I was able to fix the problem. I think that if I can get the dash off I will be able to fix that with some extra foam and some dynamat. I'm not sure what is so hard about fixing these rattles for the dealer.

The problem with these new cars is that the dash is one piece now, its not like in the 80s when you could just pop the top off the dash and reach down in there. I'm not sure how they would get in there, possibly by removing the instrument panel? Which is what i may have to end up doing, or have my dealer do it, as i have a rattle right behind the instrument panel. As well as a very loud rattle in the passenger door.

It would be sweet to see a video of an install at a factory level ? I bet then it would look amazinly easy ?

What we need is a full shop manual.

I'm pretty sure that the entire dash gets installed at the factory as one piece. It is a pre-assembly so it can just be popped in there in one step.

Definitely the most annoying part of this car is the cold weather rattles. There is no way they could've tested this car in extreme cold conditions and not heard them.

There definately should have been more testing and there should have been more rattle prevention.

When I took the car to the dealer before they put foam under the whole dash and did it in a hour or two so even though there may be a lot to take apart, it can't be to bad.

I understand your feeling... I live in small town in kentucky, two ways to get to town both have road construction, widing the roads to two lanes on both sides. I popped off the window switch cover and got some double sided mounting tape to hold it down so it wouldn't rattle, the buttons were sorta lose.
Now the peice that goes around the lining of the inside of the door that hides where the roof carpet stops, is loose, near my dash, i can shake it and watch it move..
If you decide to take yours apart and get your rattles to stop, let me know what you did. Here in Kentucky it will be 80 one day an then 40 the next, dones't help the rattles at all.
Girlfriend calls me OCD b/c I hear a rattle i'm fiddling trying to make it stop.
Thanks

You're not alone. I can't stand rattles either and I go to extreme lengths to find them. I have about a 50% success rate.
