Convertible Top problem...

I noticed the other day that on the driver's side of the top, right behind the rear quarter window, there is a spot that seems a bit 'wave-y', like it is not tight somewhere... The passenger side seems okay... Just the driver's side has the problem... And before I take it in to the dealership, I thought I would ask here (since this is my first Vert) and see if anyone has had this problem and knows how to fix it easily!

Attached is a pic of what I am talking about...

Thanks for any help!

I am not sure that is a real problem. My vert is about 2 3/4 years old. I have that wrinkle every time I put my top up for about 24 hrs than it smooths out. I don't think it's a big issue. Did you take that picture shortly after you put the top up???

Nope... I have had it up now for a few days due to the weather...

I thought that it may have been caused by the cold and was hoping the warmer weather today would 'iron' it out, but so far it's staying... Although, it does look a little better than it did yesterday when it was cooler...

I get the same on my vert. The colder it gets, the less you'll see them. Its not a real problem. The dealer might make it worse unless they have a skilled specialist. I would live with it.

Looks like a "top was down" wrinkle to me. I get those and they'll stay until a nice, hot day. Nothing to worry about.

I think I have to concur with my twin.

Although, the wrinkles look a little different than I'm used to seeing on mine...or maybe I'm just not paying attention to mine anymore .

Mine seems to be the opposite!

It warmed up a bit today (mid 70's) and it seemed to almost go away... But it came back when it got cooler again... That's the part I am worried about, do I have to live with this through the winter months? The wrinkles I can handle, they do eventually go away, but that wavey part annoys the heck out of me since it sticks around! Especially since it only does it on the driver's side!

I get that if it's could be slightly damp put the top down then up, its cold I gather so it's wrinkled a bit.

Sorry to hijack, but what about the weather strips between the top itself and the glass? Mine has torn away and I've even had the dealer replace it once, but it has returned. Has anyone else seen the padded weather stripping come away from the top?

I had the middle piece of weatherstripping replaced. The first time they ordered it, the wrong part was in the right box, so they ended up ordering all 3 pieces for each side and replace it all. That was about 10,000 miles and a year ago. So far so good.
