Clicking noise normal?

Just got my 08 GT with 10,600 on it... it has a clicking or ticking noise which sounds like its coming from the top of the engine. Perfect example of the sound is in this video: http://s104.photobucket.com/albums/m...t=SDC11975.flv

Dont hear it when I drive, doesn't get louder that I'm aware.

I've heard its both normal and not. I started an 06 GT and it had the same noise, yet a little less noticeable. Gonna take it to them to have them check it out, just wanted to get any feedback if anyone had anything similar. Thanks!

It's the fuel injectors, as I remember. It's normalish.

All OHC motors make some noise. It's the nature of the beast. If it get excessive, that's another story.

I have a distinct clicking noise that is loudest at ~1200rpm. Using a mechanic's stethoscope, the source was found to be the loudest at the #4 cylinder intake runners on the top of the plenum. The noise happens only once per cycle. All of the usual sources were eliminated, including the injectors, yet they tell me it is normal??

There are also a few TSB's out for noise concerns coming from the cam phasers.

I just noticed a clicking noise today - it's a real coincidence that I happened to run into this thread today too. I hear it most around 1100rpm. It sounds like something is loose and tumbling around or hitting something.

Haven't had a chance to listen closer w/ the hood up yet.

FWIW, I was listening to Car Talk last week and they were saying that a loose spark plug could make a clicking noise. Check to make sure your spark plugs are properly tightened. If one is loose and shoots out it could cause some serious damage.

I agree with the above. Valve train noise is normal. Get an exhaust system and it goes away

My car just started ticking a few days ago lol.. although its under acceleration, gets faster with more RPM and louder the more gas i give it, sounds like its coming through the A/C vents almost. driving me crazy for sure... and now im throwing constant o2 sensor slow response/heater codes.

Check all your pipes.
Exhaust can make a ticking noise too.
If something has come loose on your exhaust it can do that stuff.
