Check Engine Light but no Trouble Code Found?

So Friday I'm driving home from work going about 75 with the cruise control on like usual. Out of the blue my check engine light illuminates. I'm almost at my destination, so I figure I'll just whip out the old Predator from the trunk and see whats what. The light remains on, but the Predator displays 'no trouble codes found'. I am surprised because I always assumed that if you have the light, there must be a code associated with it. The Predator did allow me to reset the light and it has not come on again after 100 plus miles.

When I got home I checked the obvious things like the gas cap and the under hood area for a disconnected hose, etc. but found nothing. I've had the C&L intake for 45K+ miles without any issues. Maybe an O2 sensor is starting to go bad?

Anyone else had a similar issue and if so, what was the cause and resolution?

Didn't you also have the Peripheral iPod connector? I had to remove mine as it was screwing up my dash lights and turn signals. Try it with the device removed. It may fix your problems. It cured my problems.

That wasn't me, but thanks for the response anyway.

I realize that I am responding to my own post, but I think I learned something today about OBD II in general:

Just because you have a "check engine" light does not necessarily mean that you have a stored trouble code. Depending on the fault, it may take 2 or 3 consecutive drive cycles with the fault to result in a trouble code that can be read by a Predator or other scan tool.

So, I probably shouldn't have reset the light, but rather monitored it for 1 or 2 more drive cycles and then checked for a trouble code. If I discover anything that may be helpful I will post it.
