Brake Job Cost?

How much should a brake job cost on all four discs with replacing all rotors and pads? My son says he can do it in an hour. Two different mechanics are quoting 2 to 3 hours and $250 to $350 in labor only!
I hope I am posting this in the right place. Thanks.

you probably don't need rear rotors that will save you at least 100 bucks. Go to newparts take off and get some rotors. A front set is around 60 bucks 1/2 price from the parts store. Doing a quick check for stock replacement parts at the store I came up with 350.00 for everything you listed. Ford parts would probably be a lot more than that. If you have your stock rotors turned instead of replacing them that will save you at least 120.00 bucks just on the front another 100 if you can get the rear rotors turned

I paid $530 for parts and labor at the dealer for my F150 last month. And that was new pads all the way around and turned rotors all 4 corners. The. I sold it.

Thanks Guys

At 54000 miles the rear brakes are shot but the fronts are still good...figure that? For the record I do NOT ride around with my parking brake on!
I already have all the new rotors from New Take Off and ceramic pads from NAPA. One Ford dealer wanted $225, another quoted $130 (I think he was just talking about the rear, and my local mechanic wanted $316. (Those are all labor only charges!)
I am having my son show me how to do it. Thanks guys.

its really not to hard to do the work yourself. Most def not what they want to charge for the install. Just do one side at a time incase you loose track of something. Any questions were here to help
