battery problem

well like an idiot i left the keys in the ignition in acc. mode all night last nite and just realized it now (its 2pm!). the battery was completely dead so i jumped it with my other car and it started up after a bit of a struggle. i let it run for like 2 minutes and it seemed fine. i turned it off and then back on and everything was great. i started buffing the car (my first car show is tomorrow.....wat are the odds of me doing this now!?!) for about 45 minutes and i went to start it and it REALLY struggled to turn over. obviously its the battery.

do i need to get a new one?

after i got it started the 2nd time after the struggle i took it around the block for a few minutes to let it run. now, again, its fine. i really dont want to go to my first show tomorrow just to get there and have a dead battery. im sure someone will give me a jump but id rather not go that route.

First things first: Running a car for two minutes is not NEARLY enough time to charge a depleted battery. Not even CLOSE. You have options:

1) Go for a REALLY long drive (think a couple of hours, just to be sure it is 100% charged)
2) Put the batter on a slow charger over night.

The drive will charge the battery, but the slow charger will be easier on it and do a better job. If it still acts up after that, yup, you need another battery.
