Bad Day at the Gas Station

I pull into the gas station tonight and the knucklehead comes over to the car. I tell him what I want, hand him my card and he proceeds to the back of the car. Pretty soon I hear "bla bla bla bla....BANG....BANG...bla bla".
This guy is going on about "this is why Ford is going out of business". He was trying to find a way to rest the gas cap on the fuel door but these cars don't HAVE any way to do that. Sooo...TWICE..he tried to put the gas cap on the door and is banged into the side of the rear quarter!

On top of that..now he's going on about this is why Toyota is putting Ford out of business yada yada yada. He walks away..I'm sitting there steaming. When the gas was done, I figured this yahoo isn't coming near my car again, I get out and take care of the end of the transaction. He comes over and I said "Toyotas are great if you like slow, boring cars, they make LOTS of those, and by they way, Toyota will have their day, everyone eventually does".

You would think this was the end right? NOOO. I get in the car start it and drive away only to find that the SHAKER 500 has LEFT THE BUILDING! Out of no where, with no warning and no reason, this head unit is COMPLETELY done. It barely displays the time, won't turn on etc. Does nothing. I've really been wrestling with how to make the whole ipod deal work correctly in this car. I think someone has sent a sign that I need a new head unit.

Haha, the timing of the Shaker malfunction is hilariously ironic.

A purdy new headunit is screaming for you to get it. That guy can keep his Yotas. I had to live through one as my first car. Once you go stang, you'll never go back to ricer.

Oh man, that was pretty hilarious... the timing and all. But it still bites! Sorry to hear, but a new head unit would be sweet.

You cant pump your own gas in New Jersey? Why is that? Is it to "keep jobs"? What a bunch of bologna

Not to change the subject, but I remember an episode of the Sopranos (the one where Christopher & Paulie get stuck in the woods) and it showed them pumping their own gas. A little quirk they forgot about? BTW, besides the Mustang, Ford doesn't offer anything that appeals to me.

Next time he goes on about his Toy-ota, tell him that when he grows up maybe he can get a real-ota.

Jersey sucks. I was at Wildwood this weekend and was pensive about getting filled up on the Garden State Parkway, but the fellow who pumped it was very courteous and careful...even cleaned my windshield off nicely. I'd still rather pump my own petrol.

I didn't know gas station workers still pumped gas these days? In California there is usually only one person working a gas station and they are secured behind bullet proof glass.

New Jersey and Oregon (last I knew) require that gas station employees pump gas. I'm guessing that this was some sort of job protection legislation.

Of course there is a safety component as well. I see idiots pumping gas while smoking or talking on cell phones around here now and then despite warning signs not to do so.

I dont want anyone pumping my gas and spilling gas down my fender or being careless with the nozzle and damaging my baby.

How about pick ups or SUV's? I know their cars suck and are fugly but truckwise they are the best IMHO.

Dude, they're in the MAFIA! They're stealing money from politicians, old ladies, yada yada. Shooting people, strong arming law enforcement people. Do you really think they'll obey the gas pumping law??

SHEESH!

Hey 97, I cut my gas cap off that plastic holder and just set it to the side now rather than having bang against my car. Just a thought. And the shaker 500 is alright but I'm actually looking forward to the day mine takes a ****
