Well i'm at 16,500 on my 06 gt and it has been groaning for a while. After reading these threads I think I will continue to just leave it be....

Did you have to remove any gear oil to add the F/M? How much F/M is in the "small" bottle? Thanks

I had mine "fixed" in June with new clutches as well per the TSB and now, after another 10,000 or so miles, it is back. This time I'll try a bottle of friction modifier. I'd like to upgrade to a ratcheting locker like those offered by Powertrax (PowerTrax actually does not offer a model for Mustanges newer than 2003) or the Detroit EZ Locker. Has anyone tried one of these?

It's a tiny, tiny bottle, about twice the size of a standard Liquid Paper bottle! No, I didn't remove any oil to add it, but I guess it's possible that some diff's are filled to slightly different levels. Maybe I had room beccause they forgot to add it at the factory!

Anyway- it worked, and it's still working- glad I did it. I won't add any more, though.

I took my car to dealer 8.30 am today to get that axle groan checked (among with other things)... I said to try the FM first, but when I picked it up at 4pm, they've changed the clucth kit and noise is gone. I hope it doesn't come back. Never ever.
