It just started this week, but from time to time when I start up and put on the brakes the shifter doesn't want to go into gear (R or D) only for a few seconds. Has anyone had this with thier auto? It like its locked but then when I retry it goes in . Just want oppinions.

 

No I have not seen that problem. If it happens routinely, I 'd take it in to your dealer.

 

I've heard it might be Trans linkage someone else has had this problem with an 06 GT.

 

I only have a bit of clunking sounds when going into gear on my auto...dont know if thats normal either. Do you guys have that too?

 

I have had the happen a couple of times. I just think I try to shift before I have my foot fully on the brake.

 

OK got it fixed and it was the shifter cable....no cost under warrenty. But it did freak me out a little.

 

As a matter of fact, mine started doing it this week. I'm taking it in Monday to have it looked at. (I was amazed to discover these cars don't have transmission dipsticks, lol)
