If I remember correctly, one of them lost a hood in the first or second race.

ukbobigblueuk- do a search for hood shake. There was a thread sometime back about this and someone suggested tightening the bump stops for your hood.

 Yeah I got the hood flutter too. In the long run, I think it'll stress the paint on the hood. Anyone aware of any TSB's??

Not everyone's does it.
I have not noticed it at all even up to the 130ish range.
Not saying people have not had problems with it, but not everyone does.

I think you can adjust the stops, to make it go away.

I've had mine to 135 and no hood shake. But on the same trip, I hit some heavy wind while at about 85 and it shook a lot. I adjusted the hood stops, which is very easy, and, so far havn't had the same shake problem. I really don't know for sure if the problem has been totally corrected though. It's not often I get the car out in the wide open, but I know the adjustment at least helped with the problem.

Welp, I got lucky, I have hood shake from approx 90 up and one night at the drag strip my hood actually unlatched at the end of the run around 100mph!!! Thank God it caught the latch again at the 2nd stop and didn't fly up all the way. :worship:

I will definately be putting hood pins on mine later this winter/early spring so I don't have it come off fully while running at the strip.

I didnt notice it for the longest time, it is something you have to kind of concentrate on when at high speeds (which who does that????, I prefer to watch the road) to see it, mine rattles but it is sooooo minor it was very hard to notice, I bet most of you are missing it as well, some might not have it at all, some just a little and who knows maybe some of you out there a whole lot, I was just trying to let him know it wasnt just him....sorry for the generalization

surfnsocal put hoodpins in his hood and I believe he is still experiencing the problem

Mine just did it for the first time the other day. I was accelerating from about 50 to 90 while passing someone. Also, it was a very windy day. Combine that with the speed and the turbulance of passing someone and the left side of the hood started to shake.
When I got home I noticed I could grab the front left edge of the hood and shake it, but the rigth side was solid. I think I'll try adjusting the hood stop on that side as suggested above.

here is an ongoing thread about the issue. Several of us have noticed the problem, especially when a transport is driving in the opposite direction.

Here is the link.
