Just got a call from Skip. He said that they got some good news today. Deb is going to be able to get some treatment at the Cancer Center. They are going to try a new drug on her that has been shown to be effective in treating her type of cancer.

She is going to get treatment tomorrow, I believe, and he expects to be home on Wednesday evening.

It goes without saying to keep them in your prayers for both her treatment and safe travels back to home.

Will update when I get some more news.

 

All over this, I was thinking about the pair of them over the holiday last weekend!

 

Just got off the phone with Skip again. He said that the pills that Deb will be taking are called Xeloda. There is a 1 in 2000 chance of heart problems with it, but that was worth the risk. He is really happy that Chicago, unlike MD Anderson, would treat her. They will put her on a drip of the medicine tomorrow and come back on Wednesday. Deb has a doctor visit here on the 18th, and then they go back to Chicago in 3 weeks.

Hey guys, Deb and I just walked in the door a little while ago. Man is it good to be home. The trip went pretty good as Kris had told you. Deb's a little tired, as to be expected, but other than that she's doing pretty good. Once again we want to thank all of you for keeping her in your prayers and with them and the GOOD LORD'S help I'll be able to keep her around for a lot longer.
