Tire, rim check info

Hello everyone, new here and new to my area. I have 5 rims and tires I need to get checked for any problems affecting balance. Need to find a business that can do this accurately and reasonably.

I have the original 69 Mach style wheels mounted with the repro Goodyear PolyGlas tires. I'm pretty sure some of the tires are out of round and excessive lateral movement causing imbalace and vibration. I need to find out which tires are out and documented as the seller is awaiting the info to replace any I find bad. Same for the rims.

I need some suggestions as to where in Huntsville, AL area for business that will work with me on this.

Here is a link to picture of tires and rims.

Not looking for anyone to fix what I got, just to check what I got so I can replace it if necessary. I imagine anyone that has a Hunter GPS 9700 road vibration center balancer could do it, if I knew who they were.

Jim,

Saw your car at the show - beautiful! My favorite colors for '69 Machs have always been either Black with red stripes or Black with gold stripes! Glad you didn't go with the incorrect Magnums on your car like lots of '69 Mach 1 owners do! NTB is supposed to have tire machines that do not touch the rim upon removal. Has your car been sitting for long? My '69 Mach has original Polyglas tires on it that would get flat spotted and vibrate if it sat for months at a time with out moving.

Thanks!
No sitting on the rubber, sits on jack stands between shows. The company I bought the rubber from told me to get each one checked and he will send me how ever many I need in exchange, he's a good guy to deal with.

I have a full set of magnums I tool around on when not going to mustang shows with radials on them.

I figured I would get the rims checked too. Someone told me Woody Anderson has the equipment, but not sure and definately not sure about cost.

I know Nissan has it, had my wifes new Pathfinder checked there, they put it on the machine and mounted guages to run the rim and tire to find the problem. Turned out nothing wrong with any of her tires or rims, but a normal spin balance wouldn't balance them. They had to be put on a road force balancer the simulates the road pressing on the tire. It was expensive though, I think it was around $100 to check all that.

I'm sure some of the tires and rims are good and trying to go about this methodically to only replace the bad stuff, thus saving some time and money. I suppose Nissan can check them, but was hoping to run across someone with experience with this online and suggesting a business that may give discounts to club or mustang members. They will certainly get my repeat business.

There is a place on South Memorial that does car stereos that has a machine like that. Can't remember the name... Car Tunes? Somewhere close to Lee's Magic Tunnel car wash. Anyone know the name?

It is not cheap, though.

I think you are referring to Traffic Jams. I found the machine Hunter GSP 9700 locator on Hunter's web site and talked to the Clinton avenue Goodyear and they have one also. He told me he could tell if the tire was bad even if it was on a warped rim. Pretty good claim. It'll be next week before he can do it or that would be the best time for him.
