Struts and Shocks

Ive started to shop around for some Struts and shocks for the Cobra. Im thinking about Monroe Sense-a-tracks, but I was wanting some suggestions on the handling and performance of certain brands

Never heard of them and when I searched pretty much all of them came up with 4x4 forums.

I would go with some Bilsteins or Tokicos.

Well, sens-a-tracks are what we sell at Advance. Ive been looking at Tokicos, adjustables are probably too expensive though

Bilsteins are factory spec on the 03-04 Cobra and many other high end applications.
Unless the Monroes are equal to the Bilsteins you are downgrading according to them. Bilsteins are around $400 for the pair from this company.

Your going the wrong way with Monroe. Stick with the Bilsteins.

Uh, putting the Monrio Sens-A-Trac on there is like swapping out the engine for a 6-banger.

Bilstein.
Period.

I had the Tokicos on my '02 GT and it handled like it was on rails.

It really depends on what he wants to use the car for. I use the factory Bilstein on my cobra, but on my wife's GT, I use the Monroe. She wants a nice smooth ride. The GT is the best riding mustang we have. We took it to NC and cruised the trails, and I was very surprised at how well the car handled.

One thing that has not been mentioned (no reason to) is that the ride and handling is dependent upon the shock-strut/spring combo. FWIW, I have had the Tokico Illuminas paired up with the FMS "C" springs (and a lot of other stuff) and it is one of the best riding cars I have driven. And takes just a moment to change it with a small screwdriver.

I am thinking that the 02 GT has a different handling package than the Cobra of this thread.

Just the IRS is different. I had no problem hanging with Cobras on twisty roads with my set-up. I had H&R Supersports springs, 17X9 wheels in front with 265/40 tires and 18X10 rear wheels with 285/40 tires.
