Nice Day for a Carb Swap

I got tired of messing around with the OEM carb with 100K plus miles on it. I went down to the hot rod shop and picked up a Edelbrock 600. She idles and runs perfectly now and I even managed to keep the use of the stock air cleaner. I neved could get the fast idle cam to kick down and work normally so I just backed the screw all the way out to disable it.

Now for the exhaust.........!!!

Its seems that people are split right down the middle on Edelbrock carbs. 50% hate then and 50% love em. This makes the 5th 600 Edelbrock Carb I have put on a less than 300hp car and I have never had a problem. I set for best possible idle with the mixture screws and thats all. They have always run like a top all the way to WOT.

This is the first time I have been able to use the stock air cleaner. I opted for a 90 degree fitting vs- the normal one.

I will have to get with Puter on what all these millions of useless vac lines go too. Maybe after I upgrade to true duals I can cut out most of them. For now they all have a screw jam'd in them.

*chuckles*
I like Edelbrock for out-of-the-box bolt-on and go for a stock or mild build. I like Holley (or Barry Grant) for others.

Yeah, a lot of those vacuum lines can go. I have...

Power brakes - manifold
PCV - manifold
Distributor - ported
HVAC - manifold

I have no EGR nor AIR.
