New Hood

Finally painted the hood I bought from a fellow Stanger in Decatur. Its a 1984 Turbo Stang Hood.. Yeah, It will **** off the purists but I like the look. Plus it lets in a little air through the rear of the scoop and also lets out heat when sitn still.

I think it looks cool. Was the scoop functional or did you make it functional?

The Scoop was missing its OEM trim piece so it is functional. I was going to order a new trim piece but it really seems to allow alot of heat out of the engine bay, so I'll leave it. All I did was remove the scoop and add some epoxy to the hood mounting tabs so that no water can drip onto the engine. There is already a raised lip around the large factory hole, so all the water just leaks out of the scoop near the front.

They also put the hood on all 83 GTs. Did you buy it off Kendall? I'm a "purist", but I'm happy as long as you don't aero the car. Looks good BTW, I currently have an extra hood that is similiar that I was thinking about putting on my 86 GT.

My hood on the 84 is from Mr. Coker.
