Last cheap real Shelby?
Last cheap real Shelby?
Got this email on the Shelby Mailing List:
Anybody interested in a 69 350?Acapulco Blue w gold stripes.Fmx,PS,PB,AC looks like a pretty decent driver type car.
Wrong wheels on it.I have not seen the car yet but I do have some pics. It's #700 if you wanna check your books.
65K is the price.Mail me if you would like the pics.

This is the first one I've seen under $70K in a couple of years. While not "cheap" per se, relative to other real Shelbys it is the least expensive vintage one I've found recently.

MG, You've got half the money from the sale of the Cobra! Tempted? I like the body style of the 69/70's. Found a 500 in Auburn in '81 for $2500 needed a front cap and Cobra Restorers had one in the crate for $1500.
Shoulda, coulda, woulda
kennyg
I did try to track it down again in '91 and it had been sold to a GI so no telling where it is now.

I am tempted - probably not a bad investment. Right now I have a line on two 1960's cough...Corvettes...cough that I am pursuing - only as money makers, mind you.
Woulda, coulda, shoulda - back in the early '80s there was a Black Jade '69 GT350 sitting in a shed on Newsome Road in SW Huntsville that I coulda bought for $4500... And let's not forget the REAL '65 Shelby that Mark Davis bought on Green Mountain and offered to me for $13K (now routinely going for $250K and up).
