Keep a thought for Lona
My wife, Lona, was in a very bad accident with the convertible. She is terribly scraped up and has a bad concussion. We think the vert flipped. She is home from the emergency room and able to get around.
At first, the dog was also lost. The dog spent a couple of nights out in a field close by. We were able to find her and bring her home and bathe her. Luckily, she was okay.
I have no idea about the vert, and I don't care right now. Until I see it, the only thing from what she says is that something in the steering broke and she just veered right off the road, hit a ditch, and she thinks it flipped. Makes me feel really bad that something I did... something I built... broke and almost killed her.
Regardless, I am thankful to still have her with me.

Man, Ralph, that's bad. Did your convertible have a roll bar? I guess that's why open track events require them - you never know when a mechanical failure will cause a problem. Glad she's (relatively) OK.
Sorry to hear about your wife! What a terrible thing to happen but thank goodness that she's in decent shape. I know how you feel about the mechanical stuff. You're always concerned in the back of your mind about the safety and reliability of older models. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Figured I would let everyone know that Lona is getting around better. She has serious road rash on her right thigh, stomach, and left side of the face. She has other issues that are not pretty. Yet, each day helps a bit. We are keeping her bandaged and the family doctor gave advice and meds.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It is wonderful to hear from so many folks.

So happy to hear she is okay; pls keep us informed. It was a very nice car when I saw it last and you should NEVER feel bad 'cause it wasn't your doing.....cars/parts just break. Call on me/us whenever you need to. All our thoughts/prayers are with you and your family.
