Isn't it funny that every Mustang for sale is "rare"?
It's perfect and only needs ...
A paint job
A clutch
A front bumper (read: I ran into the car in front of me and ripped the bumper off, the headlights were laying in the street, fenders are toast, hood is cracked ...)
It was a light hit in the front and there is no frame damage (not that there is anything wrong with frame damage).
Mustangs don't have a frame they are unibody. The fact that the strut towers are offset to one side should play no factor in my decision to pay full price.
Half of the Mustangs for sale on Tennessee and Georgia Craigslist have rebuilt titles but NADA retail prices.
My favorite was one the other day. 96 V6/Auto 175K miles $700 have parts to fix. I called and they said the bumper and headlights were damaged but they had another bumper and headlights. They failed to mention the airbags were blown. When I said that $700 was steep for a car that had that many miles and was wrecked they said the engine/trans was worth $500. If I had been thinking on my toes I would have told them I would take the car minus the engine and trans for $200.

I went to look at a Ranchero a few weeks ago. I talked to the guy and mentioned that the body looked pretty good in the pics. He said, "yeah, there's no rust or anything".I drove for 2 hours to look at it only to find the right rear quarter panel had about 3 gallons of bondo in it.
