Installing new harmonic balancer?

OK, just so I don't screw this up, how exactly should I install my new balanacer I'm picking up today? This is what I'm figuring on doing, cleaning the original grease off the crank, rub down the crank some with emery cloth, regrease the crank and balancer and??? Should it just slide right on or what?

It may still need to "pulled" on. You can do this carefully with getting it started straight, then drawing it on with the bolt until it is seated. You will have to gauge this by the torque needed to turn the bolt. You definitely do NOT want to strip the crank threads. That would be a very bad day.

Once seated, I would back off, then torque the bolt to spec.

Glad to hear it worked out fine. I would check it after a few drives and make sure everthing is staying in place.
