I think these *** hats should just suck it up and deal with it...they don't run that late, and most houses are a good distance away out there, I don't think there is anything wrong with them having certain guys with no mufflers doing their runs before 10 or so....but dearing the day, they should be able to run just headers....

I use to live about 1/4 mile away from the track and if I wasn't at the track watching, I could walk out on my deck and listen to the cars running (it was music to my ears). Funny thing is I could never hear them when I was inside the house.

i know several people from the area who have stangs louder than hell...they all go cruise by those rich folks houses and do burnouts in front of em and rev up around 2ish in the morning its hilarious!

Some people just wanna cause trouble no matter what they do... might be a good way to get a new 1/4 mile track built somewhere! THAT would be nice!

if someone would give the land to do it and we had a few of our more wealthy members I would even help where I could. I personally hate the 1/8th mile track.....it hooks decently but it's only an 1/8 mile, where anyone running street tires has no ability to let their car really show what it has for top end power. I know the 03 cobras on street tires will get beat by some nice hookin bolt on foxes....wouldn't be the case in the 1/4 mile. all we'd have to do is be able to let the high rev motors get up there....when I'm not even close to top of third gear yet, it's not long enough.

I wonder why the neighbors don't like the track?

I'm sure that 'public relations' campaign will do wonders to convince those rich folks to leave the track alone.

I sent an email to the County Commission office and got a phone call the same day saying they would bring it up to Dale Strong. Probably everyone needs to do this so that they will be deluged with proponents of the track.

According to the letter that the lady wrote to the state reps, we're a bunch of lowlife cretins that are bringing down the home values in the neighborhood. I hope she comes out there for the ORSCA race this weekends and see how the lower class lives. There will be half million dollar transporters full of quarter million dollar race cars as far as the eye can see.

The track was opened in 1958 by the coachman hot rod club here in huntsville.. Orignally called Manassis I hope I spelled it correct. The first races were on sundays and lights added in the first part of the 60s. Later called Satalite dragway. and a few other names before Huntsville dragway..This place was way out in the country when built.Several of the old coachman club members are still around.. Bobby..

GEEZ!!! Its not like we're a bunch of drunk rednecks with ragged out, smoking noisy cars... raising complete mortal hell..... most of the folks that race there have THOUSANDS of dollars or more into their cars... and probably have better jobs and more income than the people in the houses who are whineing!!!!!

Well, I agree with mgreene. Right now the legislators could only be hearing her side of the story. Send in an email to the state, hopefully the "nays" will outweight the "I's".
