Moral of this story is never compromise even if it puts you behind schedule.
A friend of mine was in the top 10 in points at Huntsville Dragway and was preparing to load his car up to go to the nationals in Bristol. He decided to 'stage' it one more time for good measure out in the road in front of his house before loading it into the trailer. The automatic transmission blew up! The tunnel was opened up like a can of sardines, bent the accelerator pedal and pinned his foot against the brake pedal. He suffered a broken ankle and cuts to his right leg. The Dr told him to stay home, but he went home and transferred all his electronics into another car and went on to the races. kennyg
