Considering trading my fox for a DD. please read

Ok I don't really want to do this that much, but I do NEED to. I need a DD that is good on gas. I do need to keep my Ram but with fuel prices the way they are, it has started to affect my wallet too much. I haven't had as much time as I'd like to finish this car, so I might part with it. I need to pay off my debt before diving head first into another project. Then my wife and I are going to search for a late 60's early 70's fastback.

1987 Mustang GT
358W
Holley 750 with brand new rebuild on it.
Offenhauser intake manifold
Accel coil and wires
Astroperformance billet steel flywheel (New)
BBK adjustable clutch cable and aluminum quadrant
3.73 gears
Tremec World Class T5 tranny
B&M short shifter
2.75" exhaust into Magnaflows (exhaust is less than 6 months old)
Chrome headers

Sanyo cd player
Planet Audio speakers all around
Harwood 3.5" lift off hood

The car just needs someone to finish her.

I am looking to trade for the following:
Any small truck
1987-1992 Toyota Supra
1987-1994 Nissan 300z
Any year Nissan 240/280Z
94-98 Nissan Maxima
1989-1994 Tbird (can be a 5.0 if it's stock)

Just post up anything you've got. I'm considering anything really. Must be in good shape and I'd PREFER a 5 spd. tranny.

.060?

I know nothing about engines, but I always thought that .040 was cutting it close. I guess it depends upon the block and how much material one can safely cut without making the cylinder walls too thin, eh? And .060 is okay for a 351W?

98stanger, what needs to be "finished"?

Does depend on the block, but .060 on a Windsor is usually not a problem. .060 on a Cleveland CAN be a problem as they are notorious for thin walls. And some Ford 427 overbore pistons come in .027 because of wall thickness concerns. Best to have the block sonic checked for wall thickness if there is any question.

I was told that .040 over was a 358. I don't know the equations to determine what size it is, so if it isn't a 358 my bad.

It needs some tlc for sure. The body is dinged up pretty bad, and the interior, although complete, is stained. The engine runs good and pulls HARD. It needs a passenger motor mount, as this one is deteriorating, and it needs the rockers adjusted. Mechanically, I don't know of anything else it needs.

Cosmetics are the downside to the car. But it IS fun to drive. If any of you have anything to trade, you are more than welcome to come and drive the car. I'll tell you anything I know about it.

These pics are of the day I brought it home. Cosmetically, nothing has changed on the body or interior. I have rewired the engine bay and cleaned up the wiring. I've also painted the engine bay black. That's about it outside of installing a new flywheel and installing a new alternator and having the carb rebuilt. It now functions as it should with no leaks.

I also cleaned up the wiring under the dash. That was from door poppers. They are no longer on the car.

It's a good running car. Like I said if anyone on here is serious about the car, I'll sell it for $2300 CASH or trade depending on what you have. Serious buyers/traders are more than welcome to drive the car.

351 W bore = 4.0 + .060 over = 4.06

stroke = 3.5

PI = 3.14159265 (or close)

# cylinders = 8

Displacement = 3.5 * 2.03 * 2.03 * 3.14159265 * 8 = 362 cubic inches

Actual formula is PI * R * R * H * #cylinders = 3.141519265 * (4.06 / 2) * (4.06/2) * 3.5 * 8

.040 over :

2.02 * 2.02 * 3.5 * PI * 8 = 358.9 cubic inches

So you are very close!

Bump. Come on guys. Make me some offers. I'm pretty open. Lemme see what you have. I'm really needing another DD. My loss is your gain.

Body work starts tomorrow. I'm kind of at the point to where I'm unsure if I want to trade it or keep it and make due with my current DD. Just got back from picking up what I need to fix the body. It will start getting smoothed out tomorrow. Gonna go out to the in laws this afternoon and get a stud welder and slide hammer to get the bigger dings out. I'm always open for a trade, but the value of the car is about to go up once bodywork is done.
