Looks good in pics. Someone could take that coupe and put a new vinyl top on it, fix the minor body damage and blend the paint in, detail under the hood a little and have a survivor with some nice patina without getting carried away thinking they need to do a complete restoration. kennyg

For $10000 and the fixes, I think I'd buy a used current Mustang instead, or, I dunno, do what I did already once (see below) but with a 5.0.

Or buy mine for 11.5k

10k is a little much but it seems to be in really good shape.

I'm going to look at it tomorrow to give her an honest assessment of its value. I can come to your house next Jake.

Checking ebay, first generation V8 cars with shiny paint and in daily driving condition are being sold for $6500.

I met with the owner. The car is incredibly original. Hard to find clamps under the hood, original paint, it's all there. No rust through anywhere. Car runs and idles good. Goes in and out of gear good. I didn't drive it, but it seems sound. Car just needs a cosmetic restoration. I showed her some ebay ads and let her know that it is probably worth in the neighborhood of $5k. She was understandably disappointed.

Then we talked about "fixing it up". She was impressed with my car and asked if I could paint hers. I'm going to give her an estimate for paint/vinyl top, and will likely let someone else do the interior (same some of my time). She is going to consider that option.

If someone wanted an easy project that would result in a very nice car, this would be a fantastic starter. Highly optioned V8, A/C, P/S car. No goofy modifications to undo. No parts to locate. Disassemble, clean, paint, reassemble, win awards. Come to think of it, my car was in similar shape when I bought it.
