Classic 1966 Mustang
I had a woman to contact me via Facebook. She wanted the Mustang club and other car enthusiasts to see it. This is the info on the email......
Lisa, I have a Classic 1966 Mustang which I have decided to sell. Can you give me any idea how I should price it? Everything on it is original, and it was purchased from Woody Anderson Ford on July 8, 1967. It has a college education....graduated from Jacksonville State University, but needs some body work inside and out. It is white with a black hardtop, power steering and air conditioning (which has not worked for a long time), V8 280 engine. I will appreciate any suggestions that you may have on this....the car will be sold as is, but I would like for someone to have it that will care for it the way my late husband did....as he used to say, "give it a saucer of milk". My asking price will start at $10,000.00. Thanks and Best Regards. Kathryn Hamilton Willis
I can be contacted at: kittyw@hiwaay.net

I completely agree with you guys. I told her her that if anyone is interested, they will ask for pictures. She told me that a picture just does not show how good the car looks. If anyone is interested, just email her I guess. If she happens to send me any pics, I will post them.

I've been getting responses to Craigslist ads like this. kennyg
'The car is in Ann Arbor Michigan and will complete the transaction through Ebays secure network. My husband works for a trucking company and will deliver the car for free. If you do not want it after seeing it you do not have to purchase it. Thanks for all your bank information, we will liquidate your assets as soon as possible. Good luck with your financial recovery...'

I emailed her and she sent me a dozen pictures. Car is very original. Needs paint and a new vinyl top. One fender has a small wrinkle in it. Appears to have red vinyl interior (no picture). Has original air cleaner, air conditioning compressor, and correct power steering pump. I have no doubt this is a well loved car. If someone is looking for a complete car to start a worthy restoration, I'd send her an email.

A man stopped by the shop yesterday looking for a father/son project. His son has $1600 saved up and want a 65/66. They're not going to get much for that and I recommended saving more money before jumping in. kennyg

That's what they're thinking, the right column. Pie in the sky dreams. Called around and got someone to quote him over the phone. Some peoples is stupid.
I wonder what the (Arab) bit's about...
/I'm not from Illinois, btw, so ignore the 60606 zip code.

High price could be due to the chameleon paint that changes from red to gray. Or maybe the rare original for 65 pre production 70 wheelcovers?! kennyg

Some of the quotes are hilarious!
"a few small rips in the drivers seat and the carpet needs replaced ( faded ) the rest of the interior looks like it just came out of the showroom the head liner is not ripped but is hanging and some of the threads holding it together has came apart"
Yeah, just out of the showroom there...
"The body has not been touched other then repainted was originally phenecian yellow is now candy apple red (faded) right after i bought it 6 years ago i was involved in a fender bender and the pass side front fender the front valance front bumper head light assembly and pass side of the grill was replaced due to minor damages and while at the shop i had the core support replaced also"
Yeah, the body has not been touched.
" as of now the motor and transmission is removed"
So there goes that test drive...
"i do not want to sell this car"
Uh, we can tell, dude.
