Cars in Barns

The purpose of this thread is to post pictures of that rare diamond in the rough. A car that with a little love could be a show winner. For instance this car, that I drive by frequently, right here in the heart of Madison.

Let's see what you can find.

I stopped and asked about that Stang one day. It wasn't for sale and the guy was ****ed that I was in his spot in his driveway.

oh heres a good one for you guys..i dont have the photos anymore.. but a few months back we found a NICE 69 mach1 428 Q code car up in TN. Car was immaculate! Could stand some paint and a dash cover.. otherwise it was super super nice. Guy told us he would take $10,000 for. Talked it over with my dad.. he went and checked it out.. next day we took the money up to the guy and he told us no way.. GRR... he must have talked to someone and found out how rare it was...
He also had a 71 fastback in super super nice shape beside it. And in a barn out back locked up on a huge trailor a 69 302 boss...

Down around russleville theres a guy with an all original 70 429 boss mustang. I was drooling all over it... lol

The book is terrific! I read it in a day, it was so good.

I got a good little story. I'm now 30, but when I was in elementary school, and on my way to school on the bus, I would pass a house with a small barn out back. For years I would see this car under a cover, but not knowing what it was. All I could tell was it has a long nose, and short end (any guesses, LOL?).

This went on from grade 4 to grade 6. I went to middle school (7-9th grade) I didn't pass the house anymore, but I would go by it occaionally with my folks. Car was still covered. Well fast forward another 5 years. I drove by the house on my way to somewhere, and as I came up on the house, I turned and looked (as I always had done), AND STOPPED MY CAR!!!! It was a Jaguar XK-E Long Nose Coupe !!!! Not sure if it was a 6 or a 12, but it was nice! Since it was under an overhang of the barn, and covered, the condition was suprisingly good!! I was shocked that all these years, the car I saw was an XK Coupe! I loved the shape, and everything about them (I didn't like the Lucas Electrics that were in the car, a BIG in these cars, one of their MAJOR problems). Anyhow, I told my dad (we weren't going to buy it, but I figured I'd let him know what was under that cover all these years, as he saw it many times too). The VERY next day, the car was GONE!!!! This was back before these cars were going up in value. The price was probably good, but the cost to keep these things running are nuts!!! The 6's are ALOT easier to maintain. The V12's will bleed your wallet dry!! This is the one story I always go back to.

I petition that all owners of these cars should be shot for gross negligence and then hung by there toes.

all vehicle will be confiscated and refinished to original show room condition. this thread sickens me....it really does....it's like taking your 85 year old grandfather outside and saying you stay right here and don't move, and just leaving them there for years and years....tragic.
