Will the soda blaster remove the vinyl decals? Is he blasting hood, doors, decklid, etc?

Congrats on a milestone. How long have you had that car? Has it ever been on the road since you owned it?

Yep, it will remove decals. The only thing it has a hard time with is thick undercoating. Hood, doors, etc. are all going. Only body part not including is rear valence, as I'm going to deviate from stock there by using a Mach 1 valence with the cutouts.

I've owned the car since 1984 (paid $7200 for it back then). Drove it for about 3 years, did a ring job on it. Then had this great idea that I was going to detail the undercarriage - has not been on the road since 1988!

As a side note showing stupidity in my early years, I bought the car in Cave Spring, GA. The same day I had made a side trip to Fayetteville, GA to look at some other cars a guy had for sale. One was a Grabber Blue 1970 Boss 429 with an asking price of $10,000 which I passed on. The same guy also had one of the 36 original 1965 GT-350 R models (the one with the red and green LeMans stripes) that he was trying to sell for $37,000. Of course I didn't have that kind of money at the time, but a recent sale of an R-model was for over $900,000!

I bought my first Mustang (68 C code coupe) in 1987 for $4400. In 1987, $4400 bought you a very nice V8 powered Mustang coupe. I could have bought a 67 fastback out of Arizona for the same price, but it was originally a stick car and had been converted to auto, but someone left the clutch pedal. I didn't like that so I passed and got the coupe.

I guess my point is that $7200 was big bucks in 1984 for a Mustang.

I don't know if I would call that stupidity. Are we stupid today for not buying Ford GTs? It's going to be interesting to see what cars are bringing the money in 25 years.

Back to the subject of the post. That sure is a nice solid body. Be sure to post pics after it comes back from the soda blaster.

It used to be a six cylinder 3 speed car. Mgreene just swapped the tags around.

Actually the engine and transmission's stamped VINs both match the car - cool for a Boss 302 as a lot of them had replacement engines early on because of the problem with cracked piston skirts from the factory.
