Big Deal?

Ok my mustang is starting to shoot black watery stuff out of the muffler pipe. It didnt do this until i got my new muffler and pipe on. Its not oil or anything. It seems that the pipe has this black stuff all inside the pipe. Should i worry about this or is it just normal?

Exhaust contains H2O. The black is carbon.

Most of the time this is normal just from cleaning out the pipes. But it could be that you are running a little rich.

As already stated, not a problem and it should stop after engine warms up. My driveway is full of tailpipe sized black rings, its kinda purdy.

Good looking out though...

Yeah. Its my first car and a classic. I dont want to mess it up. I try to look for anything that may be a problem and post about it.

a good tight exhaust system will do that .. the old leaky rusty one you had probably spilled all the water before it went out the pipe ..some new vehicles have tiny little " leak " holes in them in the bend areas
