LMan don't know nuttin. The Aviator intake goes right behind the prop and acts like a supercharger.

The aviator intake is similar to the FR500 intake for the DOHC motors and is often referred to as a "poor mans FR500".

It is a variable geometry intake, meaning that it has butterflies at the radius of the runners changing it from a long runner to a short runner at a specified RPM. This will allow you to get the low end grunt and minimize running out of wind on the top end.

FYI, I'm using one. But I think you already knew that. Are you still running B-heads? If so that intake doesn't bolt up. If you knew this just ignor me. If you have any questions let me know. Good price from what I've seen lately too.

This is a pic of the lincoln Aviator Intake and below is a pic of the FR500 one.

Yeah Byron, I know I'll have to go with C style heads.....I'll try and save up for the 03/04's and the extra stuff that goes with it.

BTW, I also got the computer, fuel rail, wiring harness as well.

Check this out.

It is a plenum cover for the Aviator intake from karkraft.com. I think you would be able to use the stock hood as well since the sullivan one uses a front entry and fits under the stock hoodline.

AHA....Aha,ha,ha.....

Your just jealous that you have tons of intakes available that don't cost $3000 from Ford.

I wish the aftermarket would schmooze up to the 4.6/5.4 4V motors.

I read awhile back in one of the mags that someone was releasing a NEW intake for the 5.0........THAT HASN'T BEEN BUILT BY FORD FOR YEARS!!!!!!

Yes....I'm jealous.
