X Plan Update For Bullitt

I just read the 2/21/08 thread on the Blue Oval Forum regarding the X Plan for Bullitts. It know there is alot of discussion about the accuracy of this thread, but, from what the thread says, if your car was FACTORY ORDERED under the XPlan before 1/9/08 Ford will honor the XPlan for any Mustang GT including the Bullitt. After that Ford made the Bullitt ineligible under any plan.

But is also appears that you had to have signed an xplan agreement with the dealership at the time of the order so that xplan pricing will appear on the invoice when the car is delivered.

Since I knew nothing about the xplan at the time I signed the order with my dealer and therefore it was never even discussed it appears that I may be screwed.

That is either not so or I got lucky. I called the Ford Partner Recognition line on 02/01/08 at 877 XPLAN00 (877 975-2600) and provided my information then I was issued a pin number which I took to the dealer, was verified, and the order was accepted.

The process can also be accomplished through the wev site: www.fordpartner.com

1 Bullitt

I should have been more specific as which plans the thread specified under which the Bullitt is ineligible after 1-9-08. The thread actually specified any A-X-Z-D plan. Since I am not familiar with the Ford Partner plan, I do not know whether it falls under one of these plans, or how you go about getting a Partner Code to get into it.

But don't you have to order the car under the xplan at the time of the order? It is my understanding that that is the only way the invoice will be priced under the xplan.

Food for thought. The savings on x-plan, preceeding options, is a little over $2,500. It might be worth to cancel a deal and look somewhere else.

But am I missing something here or what? It is my understanding that the car has to be ordered under the xplan to receive an invoice that has the xplan pricing on it. If that is the case, I would have to find a dealer who was not only willing to accept the xplan but who still would be able to order a Bullitt and then I would need to sign the xplan order.

Al, remember what i posted in teh other thread
Any Ford employee or employee of certain Ford affiliates can get you a PIN.
In teh employee forum on BlueOvalNews Ford employees often post they have PINs available, just ask one.
Say it's for a Mustang GT though, there is a self appointed PIN monitor over there that intervenes n every request for a Bullitt saying it doesn't apply.

You might be best to PM one of them that have a post about PINs available
Don't worry about those guys on BON.
Talk to your dealer and see if he'll accept X-plan. If he won't go to the other dealer that just got one in and ask them. Then make your decision.

X-Plan is not restricted to an "ordered vehicle", it also applies to dealer stock. What counts is being eligible for a Ford offered plan. Of course, a dealer will prefer to sell at MSRP for a higher revenue but it can honor a plan if it chooses to or accepts a plan deal which would be a sale it would not get otherwise.

It looks like it will be too late for me to approach my dealer now about the xplan. Since my order is signed for MSRP with a $5,000 nonrefundable deposit and my dealer will make more off me with the MSRP purchase price, it is a done deal and no reason for him to now accept xplan. But thanks for all the info - I will remember xplan in 10 years for the 50th edition of the Bullitt!

Dude you got ****ed. You can order a BMW 5 series with a $500 refundable deposit. That is a messed up dealer.

I dont know what all the discussion is about, because I purchased a bullitt under X plan on 2/15/2008....

Talking

My salesman is now the new sales manager at the dealership where I ordered my Bullitt. I went in to see him today and I gave him my PIN and other info for the xplan. He went into his computer and my order is now under the xplan. My car is scheduled for delivery next week. Thanks everyone for giving me the scoop on the xplan. This will certainly make the delivery of my Bullitt that much sweeter.

Good for you! Nothing like getting something that you want at a lower price.
