Should I take the plunge?

I have line on a Bullitt. MSRP. No X-Plan. Options I want. Dealer says will probably be one of the first 100 built (not sure if I believe it but...)
So. Should I go for it?

Ask yourself one question:

One year from now, will i regret buying a 2008 Bullitt Mustang?
If your answer is no, get it.

I think that's a question only you can answer, but I think I'd go for it.

I always ask myself this: Would I regret not buying it? Then, go from there.

You've obviously been doing the research. Ask yourself, 'Do I want an '08 Bullitt?' 'Will I regret not buying an '08 Bullitt?'

I would argue that if you're asking others this question, then you are very undecided.

Which means you're sitting on the fence.

Which means you don't badly want one of these.

Which means you probably already know the answer.

Helpful, huh? It's a gift.

I am on the fence. But only financially. My 05 is paid off and the extra payment just means I would have to make a few sacrifices for a little while.

Also the dealer said they would be marking up the Bullitts but they would not be marking up mine because I am a repeat customer.

I ordered mine on Z-plan, but many other dealers around me offered MSRP. You should be able to find one willing to do it on X-plan.

I know you want the car. Your poll and question was not because you really needed our input. Money factors into most people's decision making. This is another reason I think Ford did a good job on this car- it's priced right.

I'd skip the bullitt and get a Shelby GT instead. The special editions aren't particularily special in my opinion but the Shelby GT was "touched" by Shelby in vegas and will have more "wow" factor in the future.

eh... no shelby GT. I personally think you're just buying a nameplate. If you want similar features or better for a better price, go for the bullitt. The SGT has a much harsher ride and will cost thousands more. Go the Bullitt if you can afford it and don't look back.

I thought the Shelby GT is considered one of the Special Editions, even though 'touched' by Shelby

Especially if you don't want to see all those other cars gaining on you in your rearview mirror.

That could be the black Hemi 4-door Charger.

It could. Or any number of modded Mustang GTs.

Oh how funny. Gaining in the rearview mirror is still behind.
