Worth clarifying is that Bullitt production did not stop, it has just slowed down considerably. January and February are supposedly going to be very limited production, then back up to full speed when the supplier issue is cured.

Outstanding, So now without a vin # , we can look to mid march or early april. warm weather.

Could the problem be Steeda moving to Georgia ?.

My salesguy just got back to me after talking to the Indiana/Ohio area Zone manager. Bullitt production for cars this past week was delayed considerably. Next week MAY be the same, but production is still trudging along. My car is apparently 8th in line for production also.

As you already have a VIN and a build date, then you shouldn't experience any delay getting your Bullitt.

Welcome aboard, here!

As Steeda did not have involvement in the development or production of any of the Bullitt-specific parts on this vehicle (at least to my knowledge), that should not have a bearing on the delay.

New here, have ordered a Bullitt on 12/12/07 no Vin # yet, heard about the delays and loosing interest. One dealer here in Long island Ny has one so went to check it out. To be honest I was kind of dissapointed as my 2006 Gt actually looks nicer than the bullitt, The bullitt looks like a plain jane in my opinion. My 06 with 3:73s,cold air, comp flash and underdrive pulleys and aluminum drive shaft has the same performance for alot less bucks, the dealer was asking $38k way too much, got him down to 36K and walked away. may cancel my order too.
cant wait to meet a bullitt at a light with my Gt just to show him he spent too much. I like the bullitt but its not worth what they are asking and since i dont have a Steve Mcqueen tattoo on my leg and dont live in san Fran I dont have to have it.

Well the Bullitt is suppose to be a plain jane- you need to research the history of the car.
As for it's performance- the price if the car is 31K- you'd be hard pressed to mod a GT up or beyond Bullitt specs for less money. Yeah you can have more HP- but you still won't have the ride, handling and braking of the Bullitt. Not to mention the upgraded GT500 seats.

Clearly the Bullitt is not for you- enjoy your GT.

First thing to do is to find another dealer.

You ordered 12/12/07 and didn't know what one looked like?

Sounds like you won't be happy with one, better cancel that order.

Then why did you order one?

Welcome to the forums!

And sorry, but +1 to what everyone else replied with, there will always be faster cars. That's not the point of the Bullitt. If you don't like it, then don't buy it.

Boy a new guy can get alot of abuse on this forum!
I knew what the bullitt looked like, but after seeing it beside my 06 Gt I was a little dissapointed. ( sorry ppl). Whammer try buying a bullitt in NY, dealers want 35k to 36K for one. My 06 premium package GT was 27K and invested $2300.00 in mods. As for history I have a Jimmy page gibson Les paul exact replica, but it has no history. I do own a 1937 ford 2dr v8 with 48K orig miles bought new by my great uncle. orig paint & interior - with photos of that car at various family events since 1937, Thats History!

I wouldn't call it abuse.
It's just hard for some of us to understand how you not know what to expect with the Bullitt compared to your present GT. The premium package GT is still $27K before options.
Even in NY if you look you should be able to find a Bullitt without mark up.

Yes your '37 Ford is a piece of history. Keep it as your great uncle bought it, and post some pictures!

Not abuse, just straight talk. I thought people from NY were used to that?

There's been a lot of people talking about what the Bullitt has and doesn't have over the past few months. The majority of the people I've seen on forums and comment sections in the earlier news posts made it sound like the Bullitt was only a CAI and badge job - which horribly understates the value of the car. Granted you were polite, but quite a few of the people I've heard trash the Bullitt were pretty arrogant which made their limited knowledge of the car make them look silly. Maybe us Bullitt-heads (and wannabees!) are a little defensive from the uninformed trashtalkers out there.
  • 18" wheels = $1,000
  • steering wheel = $400
  • strut tower brace = $150
  • front grill = $150
  • 3.73s = $500 - $600 depending on installer
  • GT500 brake pads = $?
  • GT500 seats = $?
  • higher rev limit = $?
  • better sounding exhaust = $?
  • exclusivity = $?
I'm hoping those exact wheels will be available for the aftermarket community, I've seen all the others and those are the ones I want. And those seats sound nice: I don't know about you, but I could really use extra side bolster support on my GT's seats.

Granted the paint, IP applique, and badging shouldn't cost anything, but how about deleting the front side fender badges? I'd have two little holes on each panel to fill if I removed those GT badges. It's got upgraded suspension - not as harsh as a SGT, but I've heard the SGT can be too harsh for such a heavy car anyway.

There's a lot of value in the Bullitt, but it's not supposed to be 100% performance - like a lot of things from the '60's it's more style - and currently that style is plenty cool. Is it for everyone? Nope. Sorry.

And just because there's a dealer charging ADMs in your state doesn't mean you have to buy it from them. There's also nothing saying you have to buy the car in the state you live in. Is it a hassle? Heck yeah, but there's no guarantees against hassles in life, plus that'd be a pretty cool road trip!

Only if he said that about an '01.

It's frustrating ordering and not having a VIN when you see dealers stacking them on their lot
