Thanks for the pics. Do they make a snow plow mod for the Bullitt?

I'm seeing a lot of these cars go to dealers before anyone else... kind of crappy if you ask me seeing as many people placed orders before dealers even knew about the car, haha.

Well if you've already order one I guess Ford figures they already have your money. So these cars showing up on dealer lots represent NEW money!

These dealers placed the orders as soon as possible with fake customer names. 2 of the 4 dealers I spoke with early on (within a day or so of the order banks opening up for this) already had orders in with "customer names" Fake names at that.

This is where the problem lies. FMC wants to fill the orders for customers before dealer stock. The dealer knows this, therefore, they (dealers) are working around this by placing orders with fake names! This is why you are seeing them show up on the showroom floors!

Shame, shame. Ford specifically said Bullitts could only be ordered for Retail - not Stock - orders. Got to hand it to those crafty dealers, though.

If that's the case, shouldn't the window sticker show a line like

TAG 000x000 Name

I know mine came in with my name on it.

Your order was an X-plan (hence the "x" in the middle of the number). Only the plan orders (A/Z, D, or X) show the customer name. Standard retail orders do not get the customer's name on the window sticker.

Thanks for the update, Brian.

I was referring to post #7 where they said the dealers were ordering with "fake" names. You mean if I had ordered and not used "x-plan", then my name wouldn't have been on the window sticker

That is correct Ken. Its very cool to have your 1st initial and last name on the window sticker. Shows the car was ordered special for you.

West-Herr Ford is the largest volume dealer in all of New York state for years, that is why they got the car.

Shouldn't have happened. That car should have filled a retail order first. There are too many early retail orderes without cars and some still without VINs. So far there hasn't been a single one of those reported as actually recieving a car yet, while dealerships have for stock. I don't car how large the dealership is, they aren't the 'customer'.

ADM's are an awful powerful motivator for the dishonest dealer who thinks and mutters under his breath "screw the customer".... I've seen far worse behavior in my line of sales and it still hurts the same way it hurts when we all lost that bit of idealism from youth....

Depends on the dealership. In 2001 a couple of stealerships near me had them roped off. Wanna have some some fun? Ask them information on it, 9 out of 10 times they give the dumbest answers.
