How do I KNOW?
It's all in the cycle of life and its two stages.
First we are young, handsome, naive and stupid. Then we become old, distinguished, wise, and a bunch of smartazzes.

Bullitts cannot be ordered from the factory with an automatic. Very expensive to convert to an automatic after-the-fact, and not a good move on a car that may be collectable someday (buy a regular GT with an automatic, and with the $'s saved, mod it to outperform a Bullitt in every way). MSRP is tops for a Bullitt as they did not turn out to be as popular as Ford (and dealers) would have liked. Lots of leftover new '08's to be had out there. Should be easy to special order an '09 from a Ford dealer in either color with any equipment you want (from the orderable options, at least). I bet many dealers will pass on ordering an '09 for stock as demand was so low for '08's. We just sold our last (of five) '08 Bullitt a couple days ago, but haven't ordered any '09's yet and not sure I will unless someone specifically wants one special ordered.

Furthermore, S/N: 5836 is an 08 Highland Green and S/N: 5849 is a Black 09.
Based upon this information, I doubt anyone is able to order a 09 Bullitt.
Highland Green (paint code PX) is clearly listed in the 2009 Mustang Order Guide on page 12. Ford still says they'll build a total of 7,700 Bullitts before the end of the '09 production in late January 2009. That means there are still 1,851 more to build beyond black '09 #5849. That's 1,851 more orders that have to be entered, filled, built, and shipped. Therefor, us dealers can still order '09 Bullitts, but many will choose not to as the '08's didn't sell well. This will leave more available for the dealers that actually need to special order one for a customer.
I would not order a Black Bullitt there are lots of them sitting on lots that and the dealers are willing to deal. I would Not put an A/T in a Bullitt because you might lose the tune that it has and causing MANY problems down the road. Like others have said If you want or need an A/T get a GT and mod it. you will come out better in the long haul.
They are still available in Green and Black only.
Looks to me the '08s left are a lot of Black ones, and pretty much all the ones that dealers had, and in some cases still have ADMs on. The rest sold well at MSRP and below. (with a few dealers actually getting an ADM)
Only things different between an '08 and '09 Bullitt (other than the year) is the '09s include as standard, ambient lighting and sirius sat radio

I read in the order guide the V6 is getting the ambient lighting and sirius satellite standard, not sure about the gt premium v8 which the bullitt's built on
even if the 09 gt premiums have sirius sat and ambient lighting standard, do they transfer over to the bullit package automatically or deleted option w/ the package?
thanks
Here are some pictures of part of the window sticker for an '09 and the Bullitt plate.
Note it indicates Sirius sat radio and ambient lighting are standard and nothing in the optional equipment section indicates they are deleted from the package.
