Good news for those Bullitt owners who were "upset" by the 2009s.

It states the Bullitt is done for the 08 model year. So 5600 for the 08 model year and 2100 for the shortened 09 model year. Now if only we could get a breakdown on color numbers.

They'll be coming I'm sure.

Looks like the 2009s will be more rare than the 2008s!

They will be priced higher than the 08s. The 08 Mustang GT premium model that the Bullitt is based on went up to $27420 on or about 3/15/08 from $27260. Every few months Ford gets their little price increases in. What is notable is that there wont be any more black Bullitts. Gotta start the rumor somewhere, so it will be easier to sell mine. :-)

All the Bullitts will be rare!
7700 is 7700 no matter what year.
I don't know if I will ever see another 2008 Black Bullitt in a city of 3 million people!

So, how long before the remaining (approx) 2K units are sold? (ie how long do I have to save up some add'l down payment before running the risk of not being able to get one)?

There is two sides to this Ford decision . It makes me appreciate my car more, and it makes me not want to touch my car with any mods!
But the flip side is that ,it is still a Mustang! There is tons of stuff for it out there, and it is SO fun to hop up !
I think there is a possibility that this car could be a collectors car in 20 years. How is the value of the 2001 bullitt holding up?

The 2001 Bullitts are worth a little more than a regular GT (by how much, I don't know). There are too many SE's out there to make them "collectable". That is simply a sales pitch. Who knows where we'll be in twenty years anyway? Drive it, but look after it!

The remaining 2100 Bullitts for 2009 model year wont be available until August 2008. The problem with the 01 Bullitts is that they are 265hp. The jump up to 300hp for 05 model year Mustang GTs hurt their resale, and now the new 08-09 Bullitts have 315hp. There is an 01 green Bullitt in Hemmings Motor News with 1109 miles on it for $21,900 for a car that based at $26,040 in 2001. The black book shows them being worth about $2000 more than a GT of the same year. The freshened 2010 Mustang GT with 350 or 360hp will hurt the value of the current Bullitts unless Ford messes up the MCE and they come out ugly (not likely).

Starting May 27? Is that normal or did the 08 model year get shortened?

With Mustang production at Flat Rock starting in the 2005 model year, the model year was shifted to change in late May or early June. Also, Ford has moved up the changeover to June for a lot of models over the last few years (not September like the old days) to compete with many other brands who changeover in the summer instead of the fall.

On a side note, the 08 model year didn't really get shortened. Consider that Job #1 for '08's was June 5th, 2007, so it will be about a 51 week production run.

If anything the '09 model year run will be what is shortened, if the 2010s do start production in Jan '09

I know that the 09' will be shortened, but do we have a hard date on when Ford will start building 10's???? Not on the lots, but start building for distribution to dealers.

Wow! 2009 Mustangs are only a month away. I heard the 2010 Mustang will debut in Jan 09. GM says the new 2010 Camaro will be out in first quarter 09. The 08 Mustangs are about to have a birthday. I hope Ford raises the 09 price a grand, but they will probably wait until the 10s come out for the big price increase.

I have the Ford 2009 model start-up dates report, and Job Last for 2009 Mustangs is still TBD.

2010 production is rumoured to start Jan '09. If it does you know they won't be producing '09s at the same time and that production would likely end Dec '08.
