Have they given you a VIN yet?

I understand production for job2 doesn't start until 3 Dec

Dec. 3rd?, I have heard the 14th, would be nice to get a good idea of when they start rolling.

 

Scheduling was supposed to start 15 Nov, but when an order is scheduled usually a VIN is issued. I've only heard of one VIN being issued yet. I'm guessing scheduling and production may have been slightly delayed.
The Thanksgiving/Christmas season seems to do that. The plant closes down for some time over Christmas/New Year too.

Off topic, did you guys read this bit at the end >> "The seats are constructed using the new soy-based foam developed by Ford and introduced on the 2008 Mustang."

So it's finally in there, eh?

The good news is that if you ever get stranded in the middle of nowhere and run out of food, you can eat the seats.

Gotta love Ford - they think of everything.

 

Our first 08 Bullitt was given a VIN over a week ago and is scheduled to be built the week of December 10th. With the plant closing for the holidays in late December, I'm guessing we won't see it until mid January here.

 

Doesn't the plant close not too much afer the 10th and stay closed until after New Year? It always seems to be quite a long stretch. Of course plant maintenance etc goes on.

 

We used to count on the Dearborn Plant (DAP) being closed the last two weeks of December and reopening the first week of January. But, now that production is at the Auto Alliance (AAI) plant, they may have different holiday dates.

Prehaps someone from AAI can chime in here with the current dates and how that affects shipping completed cars. Of course, I think Ford is planning on January and February for the first Bullitts to hit lots to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the release of the movie Bullitt to theaters in early 1968???
