It costed me $65 to fill my Bullitt ,14.5 gal X 4= @ $65 This is my retirement car and with that said, this is my garage Queen. I don't think the gas is going to stop at $4 per gallon ?

I totally feel you on this issue. On Friday I will be moving to Orlando from Detroit, and am NOT looking forward to how much I am going to have to shell out for gas money. I filled her up today, and it cost me 66.50.....ouch!!! When the hell are people going to say enough is enough, and just protest all that is wrong with our economy. I truly think all it's going to take is for all the truckers of the nation to go on strike, and then we'll see what hiking gas can truly do.

 

Well in europe petrol costs 8 dollars or more, USA actually has some of the cheapest gas around relatively

 

Europe's high fuel costs are direct result of their overly high taxes, mostly used to fund their overly socialist programs.

 

The USA is exporting fuel! I just don't understand WHY they are doing this to us! I hope they are hurting other Nations with the price gouging !

You know, I recently read an article that made sense. I know almost everyone complains about gas prices being too high, but in reality they are not. When you factor in everything, we are currently paying 20% more for fuel than we did in 1928. I can't help but laugh when someone complains that they are paying over $4.00/gallon while filling up, just to walk inside the gas station and pay $3.50 for a RockStar energy drink.

 

1928? 20%? I'm confused, but I was never good at gasoline math.

 

In 1928 there were far fewer cars on the road and not as many gas stations. I understand raising gas prices is something that will always happen but the rate that gas is rising is killing this country. Europe does pay much more than we do but also have a mass transit system to help the people. Most Americans outside of major cities don't have the luxury of taking a bus or train into work. The greed of both OPEC and the oil companies will lead to their demise in my opinion. Because of these crazy times we live in alternative fuel is now urgent and no longer a trendy thing to be driving an eco friendly car.

 

That jerk-off in Venezuala, Chavez, has his folks paying 0.13 cents a gallon.

 

I don't know why we can't buy gas "ahead of time" similar to a gift card that department stores use. E.G., gas is $3.50 a gallon so I buy 1,000 gallons worth on my Connoco Card (Insert gas company of choice here). Before I fill up at the local Connoco station, I swipe my card and the number of gallons I put in my tank are deducted from the card. Gas goes down to $3.25 I may add another 500 gallons to my account online. Gas goes up to $4.50, I'm glad I have enough prepaid gallons to hold me over until it comes back down. This would take a lot of the speculation and fluctuating demand out of the market. The gas station (again, insert brand of choice here) would get to use the interest on my money in exchange for this service. If only one company did this, they would all jump on board!

 

Last week, the local paper ran the gas prices corrected for inflation. The price corrected for 2007 was $2.81 a gallon, while the actual price was, on average $2.80.

Using this as a guide, we are paying about 30% more than the corrected 2007 price.

 

There's someplace in our country that does this, Iowa, Minnesota or someplace near there. If I remember it right, it's called a gas bank or something like that.

 

Anyone figure the cost of a gallon of say, Starbuck's coffee?

 

I have been telling people for years to compare the price to a renewable resource...like milk.
I don't drink milk, but I spend over $40 a week on soda and beer.
I could drink water instead, but I don't.
I spend less than $150 a month on gas even now.

 

looking at it in the garage can be fun. I had another s197 with only 800 miles on it before i had to trade it. now my 07 eats up all the extra coffee and other non needed extras but i'll live.
