Bullitt wheels

Is our Bullitt wheels 8.5 in wide like the other 18in wheels?

255s will fit and likely provide a better grip.

It isn't about grip, my Bullitt is launching good. but then I haven't done a 3000 rpm dump. I don't have the heart to do it to my car. I get 2nd gear rubber if I want and 2 out of 3 times I get a squeak out of 3rd. I think the reason I get 3rd rubber is that my shifting probably sucks.

I disagree. Traction and confidence go hand in hand. It's hard to have fun without either one.

No, it's still on the break in period. I've driven it less than 500 miles.

My comment was based on the assumption that a 255/45 tire being one inch wider than the 235/50 will provide better traction as long as both share the same characteristics.

I have 1200 miles on mine and I see no difference in power. I remember that my mustang gt came alive with about 5000 miles on it! I hope I will see the same on my Bullitt!

I've had mine at the track. The tires were definitely not grippy at 30 psi. I know, I know. They're all season. 3000 rpm launch with no TC = lots of spin and wheelhop with TC off. One of the other Bullitts was launching at 5k with 18 psi in the tires. Came out of the hole like a rocket. My next set will be at least 255 and a different compound.

I am a show off and my bullitt takes off like a rocket!!!
I know that is what a person wants, but I like to have fun some times. I haven't done a 3k launch yet. I have 1200 miles on the beast now
