Hmm, ""Paul Randle, Mustang's chief nameplate engineer. "Among the naturally aspirated cars, it's the real enthusiast's model."" I am not so sure about that. I wonder why this Aussie says that if he knows anything about the other Ford Australia products:

Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) General Manager Rod Barrett. “The new FPV GT Cobra...powered by FPV’s latest high performance Boss 5.4-litre quad-cam 32 valve V8 engine, which now produces 302kW.”

That's 405HP folks...

Re: Paul Randle, I hear him speak on one of the videos (Edmunds or PopMech) and I could swear that's an Aussie accent coming out of his pie hole???

So, he may know all about FPV, and besides, his reference might've been N.American in intent, I'd wager...

Wow,that's really reaching to find fault in the Bullitt......you know we don't live in Australia right??? You might as well bring up stuff like the DB9 if we're making irrelevent comparsions.

Uh, what I'm saying is that the other engine is kick-***...so many other people here have raised the issue of the lack of high-hp engine for this Bullitt...

"the real enthusiast's model" would be this car with that engine. I think that is Relevant.

So,you want the Ford guy to say...."we knowingly didn't put our best engine in this car."..........yeah,that would make sense,if he wanted another job.........

No it isn't relevant because the Bullitt is sold in the US and that Falcon is not. Why the heck should the chief nameplate engineer for the Mustang talk up a car that is not even available in the US when he is promoting the Bullitt?

Is the FPV 5.4 emissions compliant in all 50 states? That would be a pertinent question to answer before you can declare its relevancy. How much does it cost? That would be another question to answer before you decide on its relevancy. Could Ford sell it for a profit, here? That would be another question to answer before settling on relevancy.

There is a lot to like about the Aussie motor, its going to be featured in the Aussie Cobra, but you must be aware that the car is going to be a minimum of $65,110 (Australian dollars, approximately $57,296 American at current exchange rates.)

Offering a Bullitt SE with an Aussie motor at 405-hp at $57k (17k higher than the MSRP on a 500-hp Shelby GT500) does not sound like a real enthusiasts model, but more like a marketing plan laid out by the captain of the Titanic.

I'm sure Fords North America's 5.4 mod motor that they have been testing in an SE can pump that out as well.

If they decide to use it of course.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go call the Whambulence

Best question of this thread, lol. Cause my eyes focused on that for a bit and I looked at it sideways.

Ah right...given what some people here have said about the 5.4L. I'm just giving Paul Randle a hard time...I like the new car...

Something Relevant is connected with a subject or issue.
The engine exists and is made by Ford- it could go into a Mustang if Ford chose to do so...not that they would, could, should, whatever...
Pertinent suggests a logical, precise relevance.
It isn't pertinent because Ford doesn't make a Mustang with this engine.

A s/c, GT500 hood with front/rear fascias can be the answer although the costs would place it right along the GT500 MSRP minus the 5.4, the 6-spd, the bigger brakes, wheels, and tires.

you do have to understand that Ford didnt want this to be a expensive car, only a few thousand over MSRP of the regular GT, so they were kind of limited on what they could do.
