Bullitt Poll: How Did Ford Do?

Now that we've finally seen the Bullitt, how would you grade Ford?

Outside...10/10
Inside...8/10...9/10 if it has the GT500 Wheel.

History note...change the stitching!

theres several reasons i dont like it as a tribute car.... first the interior, wow theres a lot the could have done, also, wheres the quarter window louvers and side c scoops at???

i like the car, a lot. i just dont like it as a tribute to the original bullit, finally ford has a body that resembles the original, then they ruin it by not putting in some of the most inportant ques.

I voted "close but no cigar", mostly because I would have liked to have seen a few more unique features to the car (special fuel door, unique seat pleating, that type of thing) But the car just seems to be alot of recycled parts other than the color, exhaust, dash and grill. Still a neat car though. I'd be more likely to buy a GT and add the Ford Racing parts myself, there just isn't enough "special" to this special addition to me, especially with the required ADM it will have.

It's just missing too many of the most important visual cues that link it to the GT390 from Bullitt.

A swing and a miss, IMO.

Or actually optioned down. Why the SGT/Bullitt do not allow you to load up the interior which would REALLY help you think its a special car is a mystery. You would think it would 'feel' more special considering the body was as easy as it gets to replicate the original. The 01 seems as much more thought went into it(until of course Ford proceeded to ***** out just about every special part). I'm really kind of disappointed, I was thinking about buying one and it's just so underwhelming. Where are pics of the seat upholstery?

Nevermind, saw it. BFD.

If they followed the exact formula in 01 they would of had a winner: SVT seats with heritage vertical pleats(svt seats involve all of a different piece of foam to upgrade), SVT front brakes, the other tweaks are ok, just not enough to make it special. Agree on the lousy V6 grille conversion, although they have to baffle it to keep hood lift down it still looks lame. A better job on the seats and the GT500 nose(stock GT hood) and it would of been a winner. Just looking at it I already want to delete the medallion on the rear and change the grille.

I was surprised the pattern for the seats does not match the '01 but it is a good trade off in having the GT500 seats instead since they are more comfortable rather having the standard GT seats with vertical upholstery patterns.

Well, thought about it. As much as I stand up for Ford day in day out selling them for 6 years, and knowing how the 'system' works for such things-I'm clicking for a BIG miss on this one. Opportunity wasted. However-If I did not own a Mustang now, I would buy it and mod it right away-probably to look exactly like my car looks now only in green. I would still be unhappy about the hard dash though.

One thing I like is that the new grille might make a good shell for a billet grille and not have to worry about hood lift turbulence problems.

way plain!

is the v6 look what they wanted?

i would have like to see some deep dish wheels, the original 07 gt500 show car hood, new rocker panels, and a small front spoiler like the gt500.
i would have also liked to see more engine work. hi flow heads and a new torque cam would be awesome. 5.4 n/a would be better.

the upside is it cost as much as a nicely optioned mustang gt. when push comes to shove, it is a nice package though. .3 seconds faster 0-60 is great for what they did to it. with x-plan and rebate i can see 27k otd! best news of all!

I didn't even bother to vote. It's just a green Mustang with a black "bullitt" grille.

I voted bullseye. Comparing it to what the 2001 car was, its more power, and less money for the package, which is a great value. So it doesn't have the hood. I got an idea, GET YOUR OWN HOOD!!. I like it. If my car wasn't modded, and was stock, I'd trade up for one.

And completely butcher the SE value of the thing? No thanks.

So far >>

= 22

= 8

Almost three times as many people dislike it than like it. That tells me Ford missed the mark.

Those are options. Don't want 'em? Don't get 'em.

I'm pleased overall. My only grief is the lack of the heat extractor hood and the louvers. I share Hollywood GT's sentiment in that I'd feel a little weird adding them, but at least they're not permanent alterations. You could always switch back if you wanted to return the car to stock configuration.
