I hope that's the case. I look forward to seeing it in person myself.

I know Im in the minority on this board when it comes to styling but I think the Bullitt looks better than the other stangs. I like the sleeper look. I hate spoilers, fake scoops and anything that says "bling" in general. That goes for my Mach 1 as well.
I wish it had bullitt side scoops and no spoiler although the spoiler is very contraversial because the 69-70 had it.

Now that I have said my piece, I would not let the dash stop me from buying one. I reserve the right to change my mind too when I see one in person. Im worse than a woman making up her mind on what pair of shoes to buy.

I don't like the bling either. I had a GT/CS (beautiful car btw), but I just didn't like all the extra stuff that didn't matter (scoops, big polished rims). This car has the perfect look for me. I don't think the dash is bad, but it will definitely surprise someone that will judge what the interior looks like from just looking at the outside.

+1, well put. Not crazy about it....but I really like the rest of the car, and I didn't let the dash keep me from getting one, either.

Looks OK, but would have to see it in person to be able to tell for sure.

I saw a test video with the camera mounted outside the car looking in from the drivers side and thought the dash looked very nice and had a "touch of the 60's" in it. It wasn't as shiny as I first thought. I was not a big fan of the dash at first, but I think it will make the Bullitt even more unique from an interior standpoint.

Autoweek drove the car and said the dash was: "The Bad: That Dash-Ugly!" They also said it looks out of place with the rest of the car.

"They" is Natalie, and her opinion doesn't seem to be in the majority of those who've seen the car.

And I suspect the Bullitt is hardly "a woman's car".

The order paperwork I have describes the finish as "gun metal". I'm not sure if that means it will be darker than what's in the pre-production cars, but darker is better with me.

Yes, it means it isn't 'bright' aluminum. If you study the pictures that are out there it has a grey hue to it, not shiny bright at all

There are a 'ton' of links. Go look on IMBOC as well as here. Even in the LA auto show pics, which are so bright the intereior colour looks medium grey, that dash shows as being less than bright.

I'm one of the first to dump on anything I view as less than perfect.
With that said, I don't see what all the whining about the dash is. IMHO it seems to fit the Bullit and is a hell of a lot better than the wood grain others have suggested. Wood grain would be the last thing in the world one would want to see in a Bullit Mustang. Old Steve would puke at the thought of wood grain in a Mustang.

I agree totally. Now, just his eyes would hurt. Just kidding, I like the dash!

I guess "Gun Metal" means different things to different people. In the pics that I've seen, the finish is bright and light, similar to the IUP color (and not the charcoal aluminum panel).

I haven't seen the LA auto pics, but I'll take a look.

'Gun metal finish' indicates a darkend and or dulled finish. That's fairly standard.

LA auto show pics should be some here. The lighting is way too bright!

Maybe everyone would have been happier with a nice wood grain sticker stuck to the dash like the origional?

Dash is cool imo

Thanks for the replies folks, glad I missed all the stupid stuff.
As far as the magazines not liking it, remember that those are just people expressing their opinions, although they get to influence (right ot wrong) thousands.
Nice shot of the spirit of st. louis!

The pictures we've seen of the interior are so bright the seats look light grey, so the dash is going to be less bright than it appears.
