bullitt dash image-what do you think?
It makes me want cover the windshield up, install a periscope, and try to drive non-stop to Paris. The Bullitt is so aWEsOmE that I'm sure it would make it.
Actually, that is the next Ford special edition Mustang... the Lindberg. It comes with a high altitude intake kit and 2.08 gears. You can only get it in Silver or Black, but if you are a purist you get silver because Charles (rest his soul) would have only done silver.

I'm sorry, but you guys that are saying your comments are directed towards the car are pretty much lying through your teeth. This section is a joke. No one can ask any questions or make any comments without personal attacks of some sort. I'm trying to get more information and all I see are these useless posts that have NOTHING to do with the car.
Just as Whammer's enthusiasm for the car is dually noted and you don't want to hear it anymore. Your own ideas about the car and its potential owner are dually noted and no one wants to hear them anymore. So please, keep the conversation just about the car from now on.
As for the dash, it is a little gaudy, but I'm hoping it will grow on me in person.

Yet again, I'll trade any BULLITT owner that doesn't like the dash treatment my satin IUP dash parts for their engine-turned parts. And for those who are sooo greatly disappointed w/ Ford for not giving them the car of their dreams, go buy a Dynacorn body and all of the parts associated with it with the money you'd spend on the new one and show us what its supposed to look like. Until then shut yer yaps!!!

I don't know why Ford keeps calling this an engine turned dash. It is actually a machine-turned dash, as it was "turned" (swirl marks) by a machine used by a machinist. Perhaps a dumb point, but I just had to make it!

because that is traditionally called engine turning.
Interesting question. According to Pledge & Aldworth Engine Turners one the original machines used to do this type of "Turning" was an "Engine Lathe".

Good point. The early lathes did indeed use an engine to turn the spindle. But I guess my generation used motors to power same, thus "machine-turned". Maybe I'm just too young................................

Beautiful plane. I've always been an aviation nut and would love to see it some day.
Since I am a pilot I have to say your picture of the Sprit of St. Louis is awesome. It does look like the dash doesn't it. It made me laugh and think awesome at the same time.
That dash isn't something I would want but if you Bullitt lovers like it
Hopefully its not the only option.

What is a otherwise a very nice clean looking package the "bling" on the dash just ruins it for me. Im not sure who made the decision to do the dash but it goes against the rest of the styling theme imo. May as well get out your bell bottoms when driving this thing. Tacky is a nice way of putting it.

You make it sound like it's just stickers and paint. Have you been reading any of the reviews?
This is the FIRST production mustang from Ford with a CAI- and the **** thing will run on reg. or premium, it adjusts automatically. Can you name any other car that can do that?
You've got 3.73 gears, improved shocks and struts for better handling than the GT or the SGT, amazing exhaust, improving braking performance, GT500 seats and steering wheel and much more.
I don't mind people voicing an opinion but when folks just dismiss the car by saying it's just a sticker job- they make themselves look completely foolish, and their comments are born out of anger and not intelligent comment.

YOu didnt mean a GT500 steering wheel did you? just meant the steerng wheel sticker right? Its the same wheel I have with a different sticker. I was hoping for a nice wheel but no luck. Guages look good though. Id prefer them reversed but cant always get what we want can we
While it is starting to get pretty shiny on the dash -- just don't drive east late in the afternoon without your welding goggles on -- I do appreciate that it's genuine engine-turned aluminum and not some cheap plastic applique, especially impressive coming from Ford's reflexive fake hood scoop, fake brake scoop, fake wing, fake vent, fake duct, fake glittery bits... school of Mustang design.
Ford design staff must have fended off the marketing staff with sharpened pikes in keeping the Bullitt's looks so clean and pure. "We just have to put on a some fake scoops, wings and shiny things" I can hear the plaid suits braying while waving some vacuous customer focus group stats in the air.
