Bullitt Brakes
Bullitt Brakes
IF I got a set of Brembo calipers off of a GT500 would they bolt straight up on the Bullitt? Is all I would need is the Calipers, GT500 Rotors, and pads to ahve it bolt up?
I am not too worried about value, I dont plan on selling it soon. But I do want to add a few mods to it like the GT500 brakes, Ford Racing suspension, and some pullies with a new tune. All simple stuff that can be easily returned to stock if I do decide to sell.
However, I have read some great information on Brembo's composite ceramic brake systems and all their products are top notch. I can see why the true performance nut would fade from the stock Bullitt brakes
Ford Racing says the GT500 brake kit requires GT500 wheels "or equivalent".

I agree, this isn't the only info needed. I was wondering the same thing. Even Roush or SSBC, BAER as well. Not sure any will work with the Bullitt. Probably the GT500 wheels or the 2011 Brembo wheels. I am looking at a Bullitt and would love to do the upgrade but I suppose just new pads and possibly new rotors is as far as I can take it.
From what I understand, you'll need to add 1" spacers to move the stock 18" Bullitt wheels out, to clear the GT500 calipers. There are Bullitts out there with the conversion. BTW, for anyone who isn't aware, the Bullitt used the same rotors & calipers as a GT, only with the calipers done up in gray. The pads were Bullitt specific though, and can be ordered through any Ford dealer. I'm sure there are plenty of aftermarket pads just as good.
Same here. One of the nicest "factory" wheels ever offered, if you ask me.
I heat my brakes up a bit on canyon drives, but not to the point of having any problems. Maybe about the time more used GT500 brakes show up for sale, I'll consider upgrading to them. For now though, I think stockers are fine.
